Well, I’m always game for a new beading pattern using two-hole seed beads, especially my enormous collection of Twin beads, so I took a stab at working up her tutorial and discovered a fun, easy way to make a new kind of beaded rope using two-hole seed beads.

This pretty necklace is made using 4mm Fire-polished crystals, 11° seed beads and the new 2 Hole Chexx Squarelets. It curves beautifully around the neck, but would also make a pretty bracelet and you can make it in half the time. What Bead FX says about this new bead is “Another new shape to add to your bead weaving. These are fairly thick for their size, and have two holes on a 3 mm center. Technically – these are ALSO a two hole square tile , but in this case, the holes run vertically from front to back, from one large face of the bead to the other.”

Beki is one of Starman’s 2014 TrendSetters, whipping up fantastic glass bead projects using some of the new shapes and two-hole shapes of glass beads that are flooding bead shops everywhere.

This Friday’s challenge is to “Double up and design with fun and funky two-hole beads.” All these new two-hole beads are great fun! Here are several two-hole bead projects from our archives if you need help choosing something to make.

Quick Bracelet with Two-holed Seed Beads Wed, 09 Oct 2013 00:00:00 -0700

This bracelet making project is a great exercise in keeping your tension snug and even. Making multiple passes through each set of beads will give the finished bracelet strength and flexibility… After I made the first two versions of this bracelet making project with SuperDuo two-holed seed beads, I used some copper-lined Twins with copper metallic round druks. Because the Twins aren’t as consistent in shape as the SuperDuos, the bracelet had a much softer, more organic feel to it.
