Bead Loom Tutorials (10/12/2015)
I remember having a belt that was bead loom woven as a child. It may have been my mother’s. At some point, it started falling about from too much wear and I was heart broken. Don’t know what happened to it, but today I would be able to fix it or redo it.

I have been attracted to loom woven belts and bracelets since I was a child. Regardless, loom weaving is on my bucket list of things to explore. Here are some inspirations, tutorials and videos that I have found to inspire and to educate myself into learning something new.

One annoying thing about using bead looms is the long lengths of warp threads which have to be dealt with after the piece is finished. However, this utterly brilliant tutorial by Kathy Kotinsky eliminates that problem. You’ll see that the warp threads just wraps around the removable knitting needles. You’ll need Google Translate as it is in Russian.

Have you seen the brand new pellet beads from Preciosa Ornela? We just got them in stock in over 50 colors and finishes! They are such a fun little bead. When trying to come up with a new project to feature them, a co-worker suggested I try something on the Ricks Beading Loom. I hadn’t used it since taking Paul Ricks’ class in early May, so I decided to get out my supplies and give it a shot.

This was a simple pattern to follow. I really don’t have much of a step by step of how to do this but I do have a pattern I made to follow so that anyone can do this really easy.

Cue the bead loom. This type of loom has been used in both traditional and modern-day beading, and makes beading a lot faster and easier, with a much larger scope for creating pattern. Even if you’re a beginner, you can make bigger and better designs faster than hand weaving! Read on to find out how.

Loom work I love it. Fast and easy to follow patterns but, the removal can be tricky. Try this simple variation. The piano bracelet is one of my original patterns.
