Free Wire Jewelry Tutorials (3/9/2015)
I found some great wire jewelry tutorials today. I started beading with stringing and wire wrapping, but soon turned to beadweaving as my true love. I still use the skills I learned wire wrapping – I can make wrapped loops in my sleep and do pretty good with the basic loops. It really comes in handy and my beadweaving friends appreciate when I lend a hand with their loops.

Wire can make stunning beads. In this tutorial we’ll wrap wire around a knitting needle or dowel to create a focal bead – and then embellish it with seed beads. Just one of these wire beads, strung on a cord or chain, makes a striking necklace.

Today I’m going to show you wire wrapping tips for making your own wire frame, so you can make pendants in any shape or size. Adding a few crystal beads gives you color and shine with this minimalist geometric design.

I’ve been making jewelry ever since I was a kid and so jewelry making in general is truly a passion of mine. It’s what I do to have fun and relax in my spare time. I enjoy using a variety of techniques in my jewelry making but a current favorite is using an anvil and chasing hammer to hammer and texture wire. This is a really easy technique that can easily make your jewelry pieces look very professional!

This adjustable wire bracelet project involves a strip of fabric from an old T-shirt, plus seed beads and a charm to dangle. It’s fun to come up with contrasting / coordinating colors for the fabric strip and seed beads! This bangle also has a simple adjustability feature, made with looped ends sliding over the wire – allowing the bracelet to expand and contract. The looped wire ends easily slide together to make the bracelet larger (for sliding the bracelet on over your hand when putting it on). Or, to make the bracelet smaller, you can gently squeeze the sides of the bracelet, making the wire loops slide farther apart.
