Free Wire Jewelry Tutorials (3/9/2015)

2015 March 9

I found some great wire jewelry tutorials today. I started beading with stringing and wire wrapping, but soon turned to beadweaving as my true love. I still use the skills I learned wire wrapping – I can make wrapped loops in my sleep and do pretty good with the basic loops. It really comes in handy and my beadweaving friends appreciate when I lend a hand with their loops.

I’ve been making jewelry ever since I was a kid and so jewelry making in general is truly a passion of mine. It’s what I do to have fun and relax in my spare time.  I enjoy using a variety of techniques in my jewelry making but a current favorite is using an anvil and chasing hammer to hammer and texture wire. This is a really easy technique that can easily make your jewelry pieces look very professional!

Gypsy Style Adjustable Wire Bracelet Tutorial

http://jewelrymakingjournal.com/ Mon, 02 Mar 2015 14:14:32 -0800

This adjustable wire bracelet project involves a strip of fabric from an old T-shirt, plus seed beads and a charm to dangle. It’s fun to come up with contrasting / coordinating colors for the fabric strip and seed beads! This bangle also has a simple adjustability feature, made with looped ends sliding over the wire – allowing the bracelet to expand and contract. The looped wire ends easily slide together to make the bracelet larger (for sliding the bracelet on over your hand when putting it on). Or, to make the bracelet smaller, you can gently squeeze the sides of the bracelet, making the wire loops slide farther apart.
