Free Beadweaving Tutorials (3/13/2015)
I know there are tons and tons of beadweavers out there. So, I found some new beadweaving tutorials today. There are earrings, bangles, pendants and bracelets. Pick out one to try this weekend, although hopefully it is warm and we will be getting out and smell the fresh spring air!! I love to bead all winter, but that first warm day of Spring is always so wonderful.

I found a free tutorial online recently and had to give it a try. It’s in Russian but there are photo diagrams of some of the steps. You’ll need seed beads in 15/0, 11/0 and 8/0 to make them and also some 3mm bicones. After making a few pairs of these, I decided to see if 3mm rondelles would work and they do. I might even like them better than bicones. They both give the earrings a fun bit of sparkle.

Maybe you read my paper on using tiling theory to generate angle weaves with beads (PDF). Then again, maybe you didn’t. One of the most elegantly simple weaves that I presented in that paper is what I called, “David’s Star.” You can read about it on pages 12 and 13, and even if you don’t want to read anything, you can look at the three bracelets on page 13 that use the same technique as I show here.

I’ve had quite a few requests for a tutorial explaining my secret behind the Looking Glass Pendant that I created a while back. So, I thought, why not make a free tutorial explaining exactly how to create it. Also, if you’d like to continue creating presents with beadweaving this Christmas.
