Free Two Hole Bead Patterns (1/14/2015)

2015 January 14

Here are some great two-hole bead patterns. Most of them are paid tutorials, but they don’t cost much. Sometimes it’s great to have a bead pattern written by a professional bead teacher with clear instructions and numerous pictures and/or illustrations. We love the 2 hole beads, don’t we?

I was very perplexed by the new Piggy bead shape. It’s bowl-shaped with two holes going through the bottom of the bowl. One hole is centered, while the other one is off to one side. This makes a weird cup/petal/bowl thing and, even less flattering, it’s named after a pig’s snout… I was not at all sure how I felt about these oddball beads.

Melon Ball Beaded Beads

When I first started working with these etched melon beads, I knew that I wanted to feature them in some kind of round beaded bead. I chose the structure of an octahedron to give a medium-sized beaded bead of less than 1″ in diameter, however I spent a bunch of time experimenting with possible embellishments on this design. Several of my prototypes featured several layers of seed beads, which, while very pretty, detracted from the textures and colors of the etched melon beads.

Czech Mates 2 – Hole Triangles

I was so excited to receive our order of these wonderful little beads that I couldn’t wait to create something with them. These have been designed by CzechMates who have made a selection of 2 holed beads in different shapes but with the 2 holes, in each style, the same distance apart so that they can all be incorporated in designs together. The triangles measure 6mm on each side by 2mm thick with rounded corners.

Shangri-La is a new beading project I designed using Piggy beads, Miyuki Tila beads, Japanese seed beads and Swarovski crystal beads.
This design offers many possibilities – you can make a reversible pendant, reversible connector beaded bead or make a pair of earrings. The beaded component can be made in various length, according to the purpose and to your preferences.

This is my first pattern that uses these new CzechMates two-hole triangle beads, but it’s my second attempt at using them in a beading design. For my first attempt, I made a pair of earrings based on my Water Lily Windows pattern, using little flowers with triangle beads instead of the rizo beads.
