Free Tila Bead Jewelry Patterns (10/17/2014)
Still loving all the two hole beads? I’ve got some Tile and Tila patterns for you today. While some patterns you can swap Tilas and Tiles, others you cannot. So don’t make the mistake of swapping without testing. Sometimes it just take a slight adjustment, other times it just will not work. Period. But don’t be afraid to try, especially if you have both Tilas and Tiles on hand.

I love the Picasso finishes and and unusual colors of CzechMate 2-hole tile beads and other CzechMate 2-hole beads. But it’s hard to find a project with them that doesn’t involve needles and intricate beadweaving.

The first tweak is a clever trick where you add two of the netting seed beads at the same time that you add the SuperDuo beads. Later you add the other four beads of the netting by going through the two “anchor” beads. This keeps the netting firmly in place. The second tweak was adding columns of four 15/0 seed beads in the gaps between the CzechMates. I think it’s a nice touch.

While playing with some Czechmates Two-holed Tile beads one day, I thought, “How can I make them look like they are falling down, like dominos?” It took a few months of playing with the tiles and pondering different ways to achieve this.
