I was pleasantly surprised to see how easy it is to play with these geometric beading techniques, even if you’re just getting started with peyote stitch. Once you master the basics of making peyote stitch triangles, play with ways to connect them to make beaded necklaces and bracelets, or make pairs and embellish them to make awesome beaded earrings. The possibilities are endless!

I beaded this chunky blue and silver bracelet for my daughter’s teacher earlier this year. Originally, a good friend of mine asked me how to start a Cellini spiral and I had to start one in order to tell her how to do it but then just kept going. I had seen small sections of the zig-zagging (or mitered?) Cellini done in finished bead work but wanted to figure out how to make it into a full bracelet.

It involved embellishing a handful of bracelet blanks from Nunn Design, and it gave me the opportunity to combine three of my favorite things: Halloween, Delica beads, and peyote stitch. Here’s the pattern and instructions for the bracelet I made for the challenge. If you don’t have a bracelet blank, no problem! The bracelet can be worn without the blank, either as a bangle (zip up the ends as described below) or as a bracelet (attach half of a clasp to each end).
