HEADLINE: EXTREME TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
Sept. 2001 The aging computers used to create and maintain the content of this web site have become too unreliable to continue to use. The main problem is multiple hard drive crashes in August 2001.As a result, there is an indefinite freeze on all updates and additions to the site.

The site itself (the remote servers owned and operated by an independent virtual hosting ISP) continue to work with normal reliability so the web site is functioning normally. You should experience no abnormal problems using the site and it’s built in functions (forms, search engine, etc.).

You may submit updates and new stores for the bead store list They will be acknowledged via e-mail and archived until such time that changes can again be reliably made at which point they will be implemented in the order received. There is no prediction as to when that might occur at this point.

Profuse apologies to all from the webmaster for the inconvenience.

HEADLINE: STORE LIST ACCURACY CHECK PROGRAM INITIATED
Feb. 2001 The large number of stores in our list combined with the growing percentage stores with e-mail addresses has motivated us to initiate the Listing Accuracy Check Program.Stores with e-mail addresses will receive periodic requests to check the information in their listings for accuracy and submit updates as needed.

There will always be inaccuracies in a list the size of ours because of the rapidly changing nature of the retail bead supply business not to mention simple human error.

Even with this new program you should still always “Call before you Drive!!”. We are often the last to know of a change in store info, especially closures.

HEADLINE: FREE BANNER PROGRAM STARTED
Jan. 2001 Almost any website can qualify for a free banner at GTB. I reserve the right to refuse, though. (e.g. Pornogaphy abd Casino sites need not apply). This offer includes all “legitimate” websites, large and small, from Amazon.com (for example) to pics of your beadwork posted online somewhere. You also get free monthly reports telling you how many times your banner was clicked on. There are a few high-traffic hub pages that are not free, but most of the site’s over 400 pages are up for grabs, first-come, first-serve. These include the store list pages (over 250 and growing) and the instruction pages from the online book (around 200).

LIMIT: ONE FREE BANNER PER CUSTOMER

If someone offers money for your page down the road, you will be offered the opportunity to select another page as long as free pages remain unclaimed.
